love 2008

written by: alf hickey

medieval society
legalised legalism
fearful to move

freedom to be a terrorist
terrorists against freedom
is what we are

LAW LAW LAW
MONEY MONEY MONEY
RULES RULES RULES

ME ME ME ME ME

progeny euthenised
behind the chastity belt
called career

disease of indifference
teeth trapping a vocal soul
no wonder, we're withdrawn

if I have to be mad to be sane
let it be
im tired of testosterone

serves no function any more
feminised by concrete
i am now a woman too

controlled by limits, speed
friends, technology, job
membership, debt, house, car

oh yes we are so free
free to be caged
like broken robot animals

where is my youth ?
the oneness with a love
just burning, burning

wasted passion, affection
exchanged for convenient contraception
gratification, vibrating things too

hope seems myth
for the physical anyway
we flee the false light of law

retreat to bedrooms, dungeons
behind doors, sheets
lonely rot away

why can't I just rise and fly ?
without jumping to the pavement
or swim far away without drowning ?

what about love
without rejection, unrequited ?
REJECTION

is a 20 year wait impulsive
to give away your sex
identity, patience for the worms

must I forget this life
and only hope for the next ?
must I reject the now for then ?

I'll breed the words
to break down the walls
conceive a new reality

so I've cloned myself a womb
and the angry baby's kicking
I wanted a peace child

but her tongue is a foot
her heart a flying stone
her love a bleeding wound
