Long Nights (With Even Longer Days)

written by: GrenadeJumper

ember skies broken by imperfect moments
every day goes by and i'm spent
scattered thoughts are spread across the sky
this is our last chance to see eye to eye
(we'll never see eye to eye will we?)
this is our last chance to say goodbye
the bittersweet nights
the parkway lights
help guide my way
straight towards these places
where i know the faces
but i can't put them with a name
and the long rides home
with no where to go
spent all alone

my face is so fragile
and it's so damn numb from the cold
darkness falls and i'm stepping in
and trying to be sold
on a night where hopeless romance
is bound to destroy us all
so i'll lay down in my bed
contemplating what i should have said
my eyes are open and i'm still sleeping
