Stream of Guilty Consciousness

written by: OurSacredHonor

I live my life one day at a time
I live my life trying to make it mine
Struggling for survival, searching to find
The key to inevitably unlock my mind
Thwarted by a conscious
Yet feeling unconscious
I'm numb to their responses
Only care about consequences
I have to live with those I render
Whether they break me or make me tender
You don't like the results? Tough luck cuz there is no return to sender
All you can do is learn from history, so remember
That when they say forever
It's just a temporary endeavor
Soon the bond is severed
They'll drop the bomb, just pull the lever
So never say never
But be wary of forever
Cuz whether
Or not it could ever
Last forever
may depend on the weather
So keep your eyes to the future and your ears to the past
Pay close to attention to your local weather forecast
Cuz when the storm is coming forever's fading fast
You better fight the storm away if you want forever to last
Cuz the clouds cast a dark and menacing shadow
Ominously hiding away the light of tomorrow
Time can't be bought, nor can it be borrowed
So don't spend all your time wallowing away in your sorrow
As time floats lifelessly away on the breeze
Disturbing the leaves on the trees
Inflicting upon us it's terminal disease
Life isn't forever, eventually it'll cease
So enjoy your lease on this land
While you still can
Before your plan gets canned
And the bombs dropped on you just like Japan
Armistice, ceasefire, time to disarm
And keep the free people, free from harm
Nobody can escape the law's long arm
So if somebody wants to test, time to sound the alarm
