Insomnia's Tune

written by: Ithilgalad

Sing me a lullaby.
Let me fall asleep, thinking you care.
Low like the sea, high like the tide,
Let your voice rivet through the air.

Like the sway of the ocean,
So safe in your arms.
The push and pull of music,
Shielding me from harm.

Held breath is released
Once the first notes sound.
Allowing me to relax;
I'm falling, sleepward bound.

Don't remember my eyes closing,
Yet they have all the same.
And for an inkling, I am at peace,
Leaving behind my pain.

For the first time, I am sheltered,
Locked here, inside your dream.
Nothing matters, but the music,
It's meditation beginning to redeem.

So sing me a lullaby,
Right all my wrongs.
And for one night, I am safe,
Lost inside your song.

This almost made me cry! It's sweet, soothing, comforting! I absolutely love it!!!!
