Loneliest Day of the Year

I've got no one to call my valentine
I've got no one that'll say that they'll be mine
No rose, no candy and no cards
Why does this day have to be so hard?

When you're sitting at home all alone by the telephone
(Afraid to call) and break the sound of the dial tone
(no one ever picks up) the phone just keeps ringing in your ears
Cuz Valentine's Day is the loneliest day of the year

You can't help but hurt as people walk by with all their flowers
But you keep sitting there, just counting the hours
A candy heart, broken just like mine
As if I didn't feel bad enough alone any other time

When you're sitting in class, afraid to ask her as she walks past
(Wishing to yourself) that this horrid day will go by fast
(don't let these feelings last) When you go home, you're all alone with all your tears
Cuz Valentine's Day is the loneliest day of the year
