Dreams and Nothing

Golden threads of my dreams unwound to the spool
Pain boils over as I loose my cool
Under repeat circumstances I'm still made to look like a fool
Is this a duet or is this a duel?

The gradual realization of fading dreams
Nothing still is as it used to seem
I try to understand but I don't have the means
My mind full of questions bursts at the seams

Searching for the truth in a world full of lies
Searching for a sun in these dark gray skies
Desiring a look through someone else's eyes
Because with each coming night yet another day dies

Once again I stare at this same lonely sky to wish on a star
In hopes that dreams will be answered from a far
By these stars in the sky like fireflies trapped in a jar
These thoughts burn like a brand and leave a permanent scar

I'm trying my best, giving my all
It's a bumpy road ahead and I hope I don't fall...
If I do I'll crawl...
Until I hit another wall...
