Unspoken Words

I've cried myself to sleep for too long
I know it's time for me to move on
Holding onto something that isn't there
So I want to thank you for everything
Together for such a short space in time
But you opened my eyes, you changed my life

They say I am crazy
For still wanting you so
But I have finally realised
That what I crave isn't you

So I'm writing this to let you know
That you have to leave me be, just please let me go
It hurts me to think I may never see you again
But the one I thought I loved left me a long time ago
In the cold of the night
Darkness creeping upon my shoulder
Time apart you said - Time alone

They said I was crazy
For talking to you
But in the end
I had to let you know
I am suffocating
I am alone

They say good things come to those who wait
Bad things always happen to good people
Emotions are funny little things
Love and lust
Always bring heartache

It cuts me deep to think I've been used
I can't help but think though
When we were together
Where were you
