Life, Death, and Why?

written by: Rana20

During the day and during the night,
Thoughts have emerged through my mind,
Whether this life is worth all the fights, the sorrow, and all the cries,
We only live once, that's what they say,
But we never seem to appreciate any given day,
All that life has ever become, to me, to you, to all of us,
It seems so far that death is away, we never know when our time might come,
Yes, there is an afterlife, and yes, they say it's by far better than life itself,
But I wonder what it'll feel like, when this death arrives,
Will we witness our own life, flash right before our eyes?
Amazing it is, how far most of us can go, without ever remembering that death is right before our eyes,
It walks behind us through its shadows, and constantly emerges to some of us,
Some of us now, some of us later, but most importantly; all of us
So make the most of life, I keep telling myself,
For life is short, beautiful, and wonderful...
