Why is it so difficult
To stay and not to bolt
Not to runaway from here
Far away from fear
To face the anger and the pain
Sometimes it's hard just to maintain
A sound mind and a level head
Especially before I head to bed
And step out of the shadows of reality
Into the darkness surrounding me
Clouded vision, walking through a mine field
Strewn with shrapnel, refusing to yield
Persistent resistance towards any obstruction
Head on into total destruction
Verbal Armageddon
This is where I'm heading
And I'm taking you with me
I'm gonna make you see

It's easy to hate but hard to relate
Easy to rate but hard to debate
Wait, don't be late, but don't anticipate
Don't rush the gate to accept your fate

Patience is a virtue
We struggle just to get through
This gift of life
So full of strife
It's bittersweet
Full of deceit
Lies masquerade
As truth on parade
Misleading those who follow
Makes it hard to swallow
The truth when it's revealed
Because it's been concealed
For so long
Now it's so wrong
Impossible to deal
Unable to feel
Overwhelmed with anxiety
By the shocking sobriety
That releases you from the intoxication
Of their manipulation
I'll be the one to set you free
I'm gonna make you see
It's easy to hate but hard to relate
Easy to rate but hard to debate
Wait, don't be late, but don't anticipate
Don't rush the gate to accept your fate

All I need is a bass drum kick
And a sick guitar riff
To sit on
And spit on
I'll rip it
While I'm in it
My delivery
Like Chivalry
Honorable
And chock full
Of questions
In every session
There's a life lesion
But I'll keep you guessin
While I'm confessing
About how I've been stressing
But I do this for the feeling I get
When I have the chance to let
It all out and get it back from you
Because you're the reason I do what I do
To know that you understand
That you'll lend a hand
To pick me up when I'm down
Pick me up off the ground
Means more to be that you'll ever know
More than I could ever show
I can't express this feeling of relief
Like a thief stole my grief
it's beyond belief
A sense of renewal and hope
Suddenly I can cope
Because of you I am me
You have made me see
