S.O.S.

written by: OurSacredHonor

Do you remember when
Things where better than
They are right now?
I've tried to pretend
It never happened
Now I don't know how
To carefully repair
All the rips and tears
In this delicate fabric
There's something in the air
And it's got me scared
Because it sure isn't magic
Sinking in my gut
I'm stuck in a rut
Overwhelmed by this feeling
That I've lost your trust
In the space between us
Look at all you're concealing
We've paralleled this rift
We were sailing swift
Tossed about by the waves
But this relationship
Has been left a drift
It must be saved today

You're my map
My coordinates
The rising sun
You're that point in the distance
I set my sights on
You're my shoreline
My mooring line
The one at the helm
And without you I fear
That there isn't anyone else

You used to tell me everything
Now you've started hiding
Everything from me
You always seem to be leaving
And these excuses we've been breathing
Dissipate so quickly
These conversations
Serve only to try patience
They never seem to last
My heart should still be racing
My fingertips still pacing
Have all those moments passed?
I used to be your shoulder
But now we both are older
Did we really change that fast?
This silence has grown bolder
It feels so much colder
Living in the shadows cast
By my inability
To express my concerns clearly
I shouldn't have handled it that way
The blame all falls on me
Finally I see
That I drove you away

I'm patching up the portholes
On this sinking ship
But the water levels rising fast
And I don't think I can keep up with it...

You're my map
My coordinates
The rising sun
You're that point in the distance
I set my sights on
You're my shoreline
My mooring line
The one at the helm
And without you I fear
That there isn't anyone else

S.O.S.
We're going down
S.O.S.
We're going
S.O.S.
We're
S.O.S.
We
S.O.S.
. . . - - - . . .

Very good, that has talent written all over it.
This piece has a good rhythm, feel, and vibe to it.
I only wish I could write like this.

"You're my map

Just wow. Great metaphors. Love it.
