Inverse

written by: Sabraeal

life is an inversion of terms
pain, beauty
beauty, pain
antistrophe
in a coffle line.
birth is death, joy, sorrow

"Such a woeful child," they said.
woe is felicitous an emotion.
flouting creatures tell me this without the speech of words
instead, with sneers
discord apparent.

white is the lingering shadow
black is void, and void of all emotion
white is entirety, totality of possibility
as there is no death
without first having birth
without first connecting with the bright, white occlusion.

the eye of existence.
blinding white, blotting fear from the brain.

the lie?
that life is.
can they not sense the incursion?
the harboring raid, and fleeting essence;
disillusion of flesh from bone?

lucretian beings hear the dirge
born during the twaining of life and death
exposed to the coil of parallax dawn
and never blinded by the occlusion
sight trained on life's succession and life's decay
and death an heir to the throne

a mind is chanting in past and future
a million dead souls speak to me
a purred momento mori
/remember that you must die/

schrodinger's cat is stirring once more
awoken by the voices
and demanding my affections
demanding that i pet him, and look at what he is:

synchronicity with being
both life, death
antistrophe.
