My Special Star in the Sky

The brightest star in the sky it was not
But yet it was burning bright and hot
And it caught my eye with its glimmering light
On this oh so lonely night.

Light years away from any other star
It wasn't the most extravagant by far
But there was something about I couldn't ignore
There was something about it and I need to know more

There was something special that I couldn't see
I don't know how it did this to me
But that feeling I got I just can't explain
Extraordinary sensations overwhelming my brain

I'm addicted, I need my fix once more
Like oxygen to my lungs it reaches my core
My inner being is fulfilled by its light
And I need its comfort each and every night

That star may never know what it means to me
That beautiful beacon I long to see
I await its arrival all through the day
I wait for what the mute star will say

I need it to tell me everything's all right
I need it to be there every night
I need it to hear what I keep down inside
I need it to discover what I try to hide

Open me up with that shining glimmer
Reveal all my secrets with that radiant shimmer
That star isn't the brightest but it doesn't have to be
That star is special, special to me
