The Rain

The rain is pouring down
I sit right here and listen
To its soothing sound
It's you that I am missing
You're nowhere around
It's for you that I am wishing
On the stars that can't be found


The clouds, like my pain, won't go away
The clouds, like my fate, that's upon me today
The rain, like my tears, that pour from me
The rain, like my thoughts, an unending stream

Suffering rains upon me
Reigns like an emperor over a kingdom
Unhappiness rains upon me
In sheets impenetrable, keeping me from
My love, my life, my hopes, my dreams
But I'll break through this rain
I'll be rid of this pain
I'll break free by any means
