The Bottom

I've cried and I've tried
Wish I'd died sometimes too
But I realize that I am
Just lost and confused
Just like you
We are one
Lost beneath
The same sun
That is unforgiving
And unyielding
We can't help
The things we're feeling
When we're at the bottom

When I hit the bottom
I thought there would no one around
But wandering through the darkness
It was you I found
Right here in this deep abyss
A place that has no meaning
I rubbed my eyes and could not believe
What it was that I was seeing
Shattering darkness with a piercing light,
Your eyes lit up the night
And I knew in that moment
That together me and you
Could make it through
Make it out of the darkness
Get away from the cold
Break away from the shadows
That would chill to the bone
I'll pick you up
And you'll pick me up
And we won't give up
Not even at the bottom

A talk, the stars
A walk, the night
Trust me, and everything will be alright
Some time alone
Some time apart
Gives direction to misguided hearts
I promise you we'll find a way
Out of this eternal night
An uphill struggle that starts today
But I know we can win the fight

Cuz When I hit the bottom
I thought I was all by myself
But I found myself in the darkness
Struggling with someone else
Right here in this deep abyss
A place that will have meaning
My eyes are cleared, no longer blurred
I'm believing what I'm seeing
Shattering darkness with a piercing light,
Your eyes lit up the night
And I know each and every moment
That together me and you
Can make it through
We'll make it out of the darkness
Get away from the cold
Break away from the shadows
We'll find our way home
I'll stand up
And you'll stand up
And we won't ever give up
Not even when we're at the bottom
