Their Eyes

written by: OurSacredHonor

A stain soaked pillow that I grip so tightly
I clench my eyes shut and whisper lightly
To myself

My eyes can't take this
My mind is racing
My feet are pacing
My heart is pounding in my head

Piercing glances
Echoing of missed chances
Connected visions
Murmuring failed decisions

Why am I so reluctant to do anything?
Is it fear that keeps me here?
Or is it my own indecision?
What the hell is wrong with me?

It's their eyes
That wake me
Their eyes
They make me
Their eyes
They take me
To a place that I don't want to be
It's their eyes
That shake me
Their eyes
Forsake me
Their eyes
That break me
Down for all the world to see
In their eyes

Their eyes defy reality
As they all just stare at me
They break me down pick me to pieces
An endless gaze that never ceases
Never releases me

Judge me and mock me for I am not free
I am a victim of captivity
Your eyes are enslaving, enslaving me
Trapped in myself for all to see

It's their eyes
That wake me
Their eyes
They make me
Their eyes
They take me
To a place that I don't want to be
It's their eyes
That shake me
Their eyes
Forsake me
Their eyes
That break me
Down for all the world to see
In their eyes
