Lights Out

I wrote this for Heath Ledger, after he died from the nightmeres about his role as the Joker

There is a demon inside of me
Living inside the dark forest of my soul
And there he waits until he can break free

Every day I sin
And he grows and he grows
and every day I sin
and my stength weakons

One day the beast will awkaken
and my insanity will trap me in a coffin
and I will hear the nails bury me inside
bury me alive
and you wont see me anymore

The scars will be etched on my face
the knife in my back pocket
I will laugh at death
not caring if it comes or if it doesnt


I will lie awake at night
Wonderng how long my bleeding heart can beat so slow
The darkness will be my skin
the demon will be my soul
and my mind will be nothing but insanity

Even as I sing
The demon grows
and I await the day that he breaks free

I dont have the strength to stop it
The enemy's coming to take me away
There's no one to say goodbye to
I pushed them out long ago

So who'll come and save me
who'll even care
I am just a madman
choking on my old memory's

No one will come and save me
No one will even care
It's just lights out for me
