Mystery Unraveling

I'm reaching again for the right words to say
But something always seems to get in my way
And prevent me from communicating
The thoughts you are anticipating
Because you know me, and you know how I feel
You know all these secrets of mine that I try to conceal
Just look into my eyes, they'll tell you all you want to know
Just look up at the stars, they'll take you anywhere you want to go
So as the grains of sand fall down in the hour glass
I'll sit back and reflect upon all the time that's passed
Each day adding more memories
Good and bad stories
The drama, the strife
The things that are life
Happiness and sorrow
A yearning for tomorrow
To be better than today
And to do it our own way
I just hope that all these words of mine
Will never fade away

We're searching for answers that evade us
Learning from the memories and times past that have made us
The people that we are in this instant
And if I had the chance I would surely relive it
But I wouldn't change a thing
Because I'm grateful for everything
That has been given to me along the way
I'm lucky and I realize that today
The paths we are traveling
Are quite simply... a mystery unraveling

We've wandered without reason
For so many seasons
It's a wonder I'm here to tell you all this right now
I dream of sunny days during nights so cold
I'm scared of being young and scared of growing old
People say I'll make it through but I still don't know how
I know you all have felt this before
You've shared in my pain and many have felt much more
But if you listen to me
I'll try to help you see

We're searching for answers that evade us
