(k)Night

Grinding teeth and wandering eyes
You're everything that you despise
You have your mask and your disguise
You're fake, you'll break, so take the prize
You've won it all but now get back in line
Be like them, follow their design
Sit by yourself in your lonely confine
Just watch your step cuz there are land mines
Scattered throughout this battlefield
There are enemy soldiers who refuse to yield
I'll move swiftly in darkness, with the shadows as my shield
I'll protect you with my sword of words I so expertly wield
Strike swiftly with vengeance, primed for battle
The earth will shake and bones will rattle
Blood will rain as they fall like slaughtered cattle
Prepare to ride on, mount the saddle
I'll ride through this night
Piercing darkness with a light
That will burn forever bright
Like the moonlight
