Climbing In

take back the look
that makes me want to run
another inch closer
clever knows cunning by heart
climbing in where dust lies
getting rid of what needs to go
keep what i might use again
learn from what's been done
take back the spark
that made me want to stay
another foot closer
pain finds a friend in retro
climbing in once more
to clean house and keep tidy
spring never made this sparkle
summer never brought this light
take back that smile
that shows my true self
another mile closer
that's my reflection in there
climbing in for safety
to find shelter and warmth
fire never danced so proud
clarity never meant so much
