Something

Dear friend i want to say
that this christmas a certain something
sadly died away
nothing can revive it
its not a phoenix from the ashes
nor a thought in my head
its not the dog from next door
nor something you or i said
you simply cant describe it
Its worth a million dimes
im afraid i cant revive it
ive tried so many times
whenever i think about it
it makes me feel so sad
but i cant do anything about it
the world must have really gone mad
this something that died
meant all the world could give
for once it was the only reason
why i lived
each new tomorrow wouldnt be
as beautiful as today
if ithadnt been for something
i wouldnt have had to say
that i miss this special something,
but it was great when it lasted
wish i could do it again
now it all just seems wasted
before i stop this poem i want you to know
that i wish something came back to life
and made things beautifully grow
you cant understand this
if i
