Oblivion

written by: OurSacredHonor

One by one
Starting with me
They'll all go away
Just wait and see
It's hard to be
When I've given you a part of me
But you can hardly start to see
Like a lonely night on the darkest seas
And you're not the sun the world don't revolve around you
But no matter what I say you seem to think this is true
You better think harder if you want things to change
Because I promise I won't let things stay the same
I'm more than willing to walk away
Today
Forget yesterday
All those preceding days
Lost in the haze
Of a belief that you actually cared
When in reality you didn't have the time to share
With a guy like me
Who would patiently
Wait on you hand and feet
Give you every thing that you'd ever need
Who was there when you got sick?
Who was there when he was being a dick?
Who was there when he made you cry?
Who was there? Must've been him not I
You're oblivious you don't see
I'm invisible, look right through me
I won't exist
If you insist
To persist
With this incessant bullshit
I've had it up to here with these mind games
You're playing with fire and you're too close to the flame
It's your turn
To get burned
Maybe this time you'll learn
To discern
What's real and what's not
Because it seems you forgot
But it's all a part of
Your attention grabbing plot
So thanks for nothing
Keep lying, keep bluffing
I opened my mouth to tell you I care
You stuffed so much pretense down my throat I can barely gasp for air
So while you sit there and puzzle in your own little oblivion
This ain't charades, it's not a game, but if you want a clue I'll give you one:
Just forget about me and I'll forget about you
Because if you really cared then you'd know what to do
