I am the man in shadows
The one who would fight the unending battle
Of making the world better for a stranger
You never see the real me
I'm the one that sees through your poker face
I know when your feel oh so alone and out of place
I'm the person that makes you see through the pain
I tell you that this is only a bump on the road to better things
I mean nothing to you
Yet I mean everything to you
I am the man in the shadows
You will never know me
But I'll be your best friend
I'll never be able to feel joy
But yet I feel content
I will never have love
But I'll swim in a sea of it
I am the man in the shadows
I make your pain go away
I'll open your eyes to a world gone unseen
But yet you will never see the real me
I am the man obscure from you
But I'll be the one closest to you
