Closing the Door

written by: Matthew

I've Known for a long time,
We've been friends,
But now I want to take a step forward.

Unknown to what could happen,
I stare into my feelings,
Pur behind by a barrier,
I keep them hidden.

Afraid for our friendship,
Scared of my actions,
I wait it out,
But to no prevail.

I want to speak it,
Scream it to the world,
But our friendship is even more,
More than my last breath,
More than my feelings.

There are no secrets I can keep,
No affections I can hide,
But only can I forget them,
And put them behind a barrier.

It is a torment that kills me,
Saying good-bye hurts,
But closing the door is even worse.

Knowing that it's there,
Knowing you're here,
And my dreams surround me,
Puting me into a ring of affliction.

But for me,
For you,
For us,

I must Close the Door,
The Door to my thoughts,
The Door to my feelings,

For that,
I Close the Door.
