I had a dream

written by: Deena6a

I had a dream

And you were there

I held you tight

You were better than air

I don't let the whispers

Of the morning light

Take away the picture

Of your lovely face

I had a dream

And then I woke

And you were gone

Oh my throat......

I don't like the cruelty

Of the coming dawn

Just when I felt I could walk

The dream had me undone

I had a dream

You told me your name

It was soft and low

And it was divine

I can feel the morning

Coming full and large

But something is different

Something has left a mark

I had a dream

And you were real

I saw your face

And now you are here

Ever did I wonder

If I would hold you true

And now I have the pleasure

Of really getting to know you

I had a dream, daughter

And it was of you

I dreamed you real

And couldn't let go

And now here you are

In my arms of steel

And my heart is full

Of the love I longed to fill

I had a dream daughter

And it was you

And all I have to say

is... I love you
