Light of hope

written by: Catfish

Tumbling, running, panting
I ran in darkness, afraid and alone
No where to go, no one to talk
No light to shine my way
I though I was lost
lost into this never-ending darkness

Suddenly a light appeared, right in front of me
Curious, I got closer
To my surprise, so did it
excited, and heart beating fast
I slowly made my way to it
the light matching my pace

As I got closer, the light got brighter
Warmer, and I was enjoying it
We got close enough to touch
Suddenly afraid, I just stared at it for a long time
afraid of what was going to happen
but getting courage, I reached out, so did the light

It was the most intense feeling of my life
I never felt more happy or relieved
and my smile never left me
for now I had light to guide me
and it was the brightest thing in the world
so beautiful, so warm, so kind

Suddenly it vanished, just out of thin air
Frantic, I panicked, and tried to look for it
but I could not find it, so I ran
Hoping to see it once again
The light gave me hope, gave me strength
and it disappeared on me, I start to weep

But I discovered that I was still warm
I was still smiling through my tears
Still happy, I was confused
I looked down, and was stunned
for the light found its way inside me
and I was glowing twice the intensity of that light

I thought about it, and realized
that the light I touched ignited my own light
and as both joined together
created such a brightness
that it equalled the strength of a star
now I no longer wept for fear, but for joy

I know that the light will never die
and will be seen by the world
so much like your love , you have found your way inside me
you have ignited old passions and feelings that I once thought gone
Your beauty and compassion makes my soul smile
and through that smile, I know what it means to have fallen in love

A love that will never die out, a love that will shine till the whole world knows

How much I have fallen in love with you
