Grey Skies and Brown Eyes

written by: OurSacredHonor

Here I sit in the gloom of impatience
Quietly as my heart starts racing
These words spill silently from the tips of my fingers
This feeling of loneliness still lingers
Like words unspoken on the tip of my tongue
Steps scaled up to a doorbell not rung
All the things I didn't do
To prove myself to you

Now I must crawl
Into a cold empty bed
My shoulder feels empty
Without the weight of your head
The night sounds so quiet
Without your breathing next to me
Because gray skies and brown eyes
Mean everything to me

I dream of days past
When we'd stand out in the rain
As it came pouring down
People would call us insane
We'd just laugh and smile
Cuz we're the first to agree
I want those days back
When we were happy

Now I must stand
With an outline by my side
An emptiness that you could fill
With all the tears you've cried
The days are so empty
Without your arms around me
Because gray skies and brown eyes
Mean everything to me

I used to be able
To look into your eyes
See what you're thinking
See through you're disguise
Now all I have are pictures
And these days are so cold
My hand won't be the same
Without your hand to hold

Now I must fall
In love with you again
But I don't have much to give
Just my heart and my pen
These words are all that's left
And I hope that you can see
For your cute laugh and that bright smile
I would walk a million miles
For your brown eyes
Your brown eyes
Your brown eyes

Cuz gray skies and your brown eyes..

Mean everything to me...
