Working 2-4-6-8 Jobs

Coming home too tired to get changed
Can barely lift my arms to crawl into bed

Struggling to get under the covers
Moving in slow motion

My body aches and begs for the sweet release of sleep
My mind refuses to let go of all the day's failures
Always falling short of perfection

Working for a goal
Must get that brass ring American dream
Just out of grasp

Finally the day has come to an end
One final thought drifts into my haze
"Damn, tomorrow I need to do it all again"
