Limbo

written by: OurSacredHonor

I feel like my hands are tied
And I'm strapped to my chair
Sitting in front of a TV screen
Gasping for air
Watching so helplessly
This life played out before me
I'm trapped in this seat
For this rollercoaster ride
Forced to watch with eyelids peeled
Choking on my pride
My eyes are irritated
Starting to tear
My mind is fixated
On trying to steer
The course of my life
In the direction I want to go
But honestly, where that is
I just don't know

I'm trapped in limbo
Stuck on the in betweens
What'd ya mean?
Did ya hear
Not too clear
Version of a truth I live
Caught on the here and now
Don't know how
Who do you think you are?
Coming from afar
More questions with answers I can't give
I'm trapped in limbo

At night I stop to think
Analyze my day like a shrink
Tear it apart bit by bit
Til I can no longer make sense of it
Because slowly I realize
That through the refracted lenses of societal eyes
Them or me, you or us
I can' tell what's more dangerous
To put a damper on my ideas
Or to use them to tamper with my fears
The choices, the decisions aren't really our own
We're just regurgitating everything that we were shown
Conflicts of morality
And hypocritical fallacy
Force-fed into our head
The very blood we've bled
Is infected with their mistakes
Do we really have what it takes?

I'm trapped in limbo
Stuck on the in betweens
What'd ya mean?
Did ya hear
Not too clear
Version of a truth I live
Caught on the here and now
Don't know how
Who do you think you are?
Coming from afar
More questions with answers I can't give
I'm trapped in limbo
