Chickenpox

written by: clairedac

Songs and smiles are warmer by day and dawn
Colder than ice they have become now and ever
But how does it matter, that you an me are here
But never do we exist for the world to hold

You never learned the guitar on your own
You tuned it all day and it bent away from you
You never knew a guy called another "Robin"
You never stopped talking to your best friend

That was the old you I used to know and love
There is nothing left now, except you and she
New things will come and get old in your life
But you not get another chickenpox again

You never had blue in your eyes like now
You loved your muddy feet, and side-smile
You kissed your wounds away in the night
Spent your nights in regret and learnt to smile
