Livewaves

written by: putziga271

Straightforward, honest- life is rough
This weight will many people crush
'Tis sometimes rapid, sometimes slow
Your life or you, one is in tow
No constant beat, no smooth canto
At your pace, life will never go

Oftentimes there's naught to do
And what you want, you've not a clue
Lethargy takes a firm handhold
And leaves you waiting, feeling cold
Naught going on in your blindfold
Too steep to climb boredom's threshhold

But other times life goes too fast
Rugburns left from where you crashed
You can't slow down, you can't keep pace
It's life and death in this mad race
You'd love to find a small crawlspace
Out of the path of life's firebase

Sometimes you just can't seem to think
Your brain, perhaps, is out of ink
And friends will tell you you need sleep
Your problem though 's not counting sheep
Sleep seems just to be skin deep
'Tis focus that you cannot keep

So fast or slow life won't allow
A steady wind to sail your scow
Through all these times you'll wonder why
No pace is found although you try
Unresolved is your decry
But you'll find meaning, that's no lie

Somewhere out there meaning is
Though what and where is no mere quiz
This manic pace can be endured
When meaning 's found, life's illness cured
The answer to your quest procured
And pain of crashing waves obscured

I like this. Well written. It creates a picture of waves.
