So I took you out for a test drive.

For awhile things were all right,

Then suddenly the day turned to night.

You told me that you would never make me cry,

But as it turns out, it was all a lie.

So many tears, and so many fears,

And way too many wasted years.

So I took you out of my heart,

To make the way for a brand new start.

On my shelf of shattered dreams,

Is the place for you, or so it seems.

And now to the future for what it may hold,

I'm waiting for a new dream to unfold.

And from my shelf of shattered dreams,

The light of new hope streams.
