What is it about love, That I think I need it? Nothing but pain and sorrow ever come of it. Why do we crave to have it in our lives, When it stabs the heart with a thousand knives? Sure enough, for a short while, It shines bright and makes us smile. But then the hardships start to come, And love turns our soul completely numb. Why do we seek it out, Hoping happiness it will bring about? Haven't we learned from before, That loves is as a wave upon the shore? Here today, gone tomorrow, Leaving behind painful sorrow, Love has no consience to appease, All will it bring to their knees. And still we seek it out like gold, Lured by the promise that it holds. Beware of love's painful bite, For when all is done, love holds no light.
