Cat Burglar

You broke into the windows of my eyes
Then followed my pride down the stairs of my throat
You broke through the walls as I started to choke
And proceeded to lasso my heart on your rope
You reeled it on in like a fish from the sea
What you didn't realize was that this shark had teeth
I'm not just a plank you will find washed upon the beach
I'll be that unanchored buoy that you can't quite ever reach

It wasn't long ago when you made me cry all the time
But you always managed to steal my tears with every other line
All I'd every really wanted was for you to just be mine
Maybe one day you'll have to pay for your heinous crime
I the victim lie alone in shame
Scapegoat am I, the one who shall be blamed
I brought this upon myself when I decided to play the game
Now all I have are ashes of pictures and the shattered glass from their frames

You broke into my mind and proceeded to set me on fire
You cheated me and stole from me but worst of all you're a liar
I gave you my everything but still you wanted more
So you broke in through my window and you took everything out the front door

Cat burglar in the night
Cat burglar out of sight
Cat burglar in the night
Came and stole my life
