That Choice, Your Death

Blood to blood
Ashes to ashes
Your want and need brought your own grave
You took that path
Asking for more and more
The addiction never-ending
The weapon of your destruction
Brought by your own curiosity
The bite of the needle
The sting of the push
It brought your inevitable end
Your entire fault

That choice was your death
All care was thrown away
Just like what you did with your life
Just like the lives of others
A chain reaction presents an issue
You're no longer the only one involved
Numerous others brought down from your destruction
Sometimes you just have the face the facts

To touch and be touched
That was your drug
The means to your existence
You had a choice, you could stop
But you didn't
Trust was involved
Then spirited away
The sweet persuasion of curves
A look of wanting
You gave in and lost all you had

That choice was your death
All care was thrown away
Just like what you did with your life
Just like the lives of others
A chain reaction presents an issue
You're no longer the only one involved
Numerous others brought down from your destruction
Sometimes you just have the face the facts

Looking over proudly and dutifully
The soft glow of youth
Your love cascading out in all directions
One bad decision when you were still young
Coming back and haunting
The skeletons of your closet creeping out
Now that one decision, cursing the only one
The one you truly cared about
And when that day comes
That you should no longer be welcomed
That infant in your arms
Keeps the curse to pass it on
The memory of you lingering horridly
On your perfect, precious child
