Exist But Never Live

written by: OurSacredHonor

This life is a game
You gotta play through the pain
From the injuries you sustain
If you ever wanna gain
Notoriety
It's proprietary
Risk is voluntary
And without it you'll get nowhere fast

If they don't know you they'll own you
Like a living bad idea, society condones you
Allows you to exist but never to live
Allows you to take but they never give
Think too much on an empty brain
Cluttered with ideas that just don't pertain
To this life at hand
To societal demands
Failing to meet requirements
At the risk of dire consequence
Climb the fence and escape the mind's prison
Wake in the morning hoping the sun hasn't risen
Give in and give up this life is terminal
No predetermined fates our minds determine all
Plan our fall to the concrete cellar of ones life
Being born is the only true sacrifice
You give up your freedom then once and for all
And now everybody thinks television is a cure all
More like a sure fall or a stall tactic
Veins pumping pure lactic
Reacting on impulse, animalistic
Imaginary dreams almost realistic
Dreamed I was dreaming once and then I almost was alive
But the I awoke and twice opened my eyes
Only to find myself where I laid my head
Every night wishing to wake up in a different bed
The Earth turns the sun burns and we float through outer space
But all I ever wanna do is get out of this place

This life is a game
You gotta play through the pain
From the injuries you sustain
If you ever wanna gain
Notoriety
It's proprietary
Risk is voluntary
And without it you'll get nowhere fast

Fuel gauge drops
Heart stops
Ears pop
Knees lock
Brain contorts
As mouth retorts
An uncoordinated attack
Lacking
Direction or cause
False basis behind laws
Claws scratch and steal all
On glory's wings they fly away but right back to them we shall crawl

Life has been consumed
You stole it from its tomb
It was not meant to be exhumed
Return it soon or we're all doomed
Life does not forgive
Exist but never live
