My Motivation

written by: OurSacredHonor

I'm blinded by my own confidence
It shields me from seeing my lack of independence
Until you came out and told me to my face
You're wrong and falling quickly behind, better pick up the pace

I knew it was true coming from you
And I knew just exactly what I'll have to do
Cuz it's time now I cannot procrastinate any longer
I've grown it's time to show it now because I am stronger
You helped me get to where I am and for this I thank you so
And now you've even given me the shove and told which direction to go
All that's left for me is to take the wheel and hit the road
It's time for me to leave behind my humble abode
Trade it in for steel on wheels and leave this place behind
Get out of this box and start living, I'll see what I can find
Why am I so lucky? Why are you all here for me?
What the hell did I do to deserve this? What's in me that you see?
My eyes sealed closed like I'm living in a dream
I can't pry them open their sewed shut at the seems
You all seem to know exactly who I am
You all seem to see in me a better man
I won't wait any longer, I will step up today
Thank you all for showing me the way

I was blinded by my own confidence
It shielded me from seeing my lack of independence
Until you came out and told me to my face
I was wrong and I belong with you in a better place

I'll stop putting it off
I will take the first step
I will give it my all
Til I have nothing left
Pushing myself
To my limits I'll go
I will grab hold of life
I will soon take control

I trust you more than anyone
I'd trust you with my life
I'm not sure if you know what this means
But your showing me what it's like
You're the motivation that I lost a so long ago
You mean more to me than you'll ever know

I was blinded by my own confidence
It shielded me from seeing my lack of independence
But you were there for like you always where, guiding me til the end
You showed what it means to be a real friend
So true, always do, you come through like no other
I don't know what I'd do if we didn't have each other
