The textbook mentality. (like a girl in a rock song)

It is a textbook mentality
Creating pain in ourselves to distract us from what we are feeling
Shouting curses at the mirror aint changing anything
Our tears have run dry but our soul are bleeding
Why are we all the same if we suffer and cry for different reasons?

We are like those chicks in a rock song
we keep crying every time things go wrong
We blame our mothers for our fears
Make it daddy's fault we can't stay in love
When I look in the mirror it is a sad song
I want to die, I want to fly
I need to get the hell away from here

Who is going to love you if I can't love yourself?
Wise words but I bet you never hide under the covers
Close your eyes tight and pray you'd wake up somewhere other than here.

Wishing you were like those girl in the pictures
Happy, free, no blood in their tears.

But I aint complaining,
I aint judging
I aint cutting
I'm just saying it aint easy

When you are like those chicks in a rock song

This is not a pity party
No depressing music or hard metal playing in the background
The only face painting is the smile plastered on my face.
But trust me I am okay
Don't feel guilty don't go writing me a love song
Or pretend you'll always hold me.
Just play the musical bridge and let us keep moving
