When I was young, we would listen to music
And talk about melodies, bass riffs, and drummers
When I was young, you taught me how to speak

When I was young, you would pick me up
And fly up to the dinner table, like superman
When I was young, we'd play catch on the lawn

When I was young, we would wrestle each other
Somehow I awalys seemed to win
When I was young, you taught me how to write

When I was young, you locked us out of the house
and you twisted your ankle playing basketball
When I was young you set fire to our kitchen

Now that I'm old we've lost the will to speak
I help you fix the hammock, or something else
Now that I'm old, we don't know each other

Now that I'm old, I'm torn between my role models
Because I don't want to forgive you
Now that I'm old, I fear your DNA in my heart

Now that I'm old, people tell me I'm just like you
I don't know if I should be proud or offended
Now that I'm old, I need someone to tell me what to do

Now that I'm old, everything I do around you is wrong
When I try to open up you criticize me the most
Now that I'm old, I know that you hate me
