I Would Like To Talk (To God)

written by: Mehras

I open my eyes and see

The world around me

And with the first words that I learn

It's a craving for which I yearn
Slowly I learn to walk
Slowly I learn to talk

And now that I've become a man

I would like to talk to God:

I would like to ask him many questions

He seems to have all the time in the world

I would like him to listen

And then one by one reply

For I know one day I would be put to the stand

And ordered to take my oath

Then be asked questions

For some I may have reasons

For some I may have none

But now, I would like to talk to God:

This time its He who has to answer
Tell me why he created cancer
I would like to know where we're from
And why we are here?
Where do we go from here?
What is the purpose behind all this?
If I wasn't me, would I be someone else?
Why am I given a body and a soul?
And then my body's separated from my soul
And buried in a hole
Till we hear The Great Call.

Why so many flaws with something that's supposed to be perfect
Why is the time carrying us to an unknown destination?
Is Atlantis real or that's just an imagination?
Why has the light turned cold without much effect?
Why so many flaws with something that's supposed to be perfect

I would like to know why there's so much injustice
Why so many wars and so little time for peace
I wanna know why some suffer till they die?
Why nobody hears our loudest cry?
Why are we engulfed in hatred and crime?
Isn't it time? Ooh, isn't it time for God to explain why?

I would like to talk (to God)
