No Apologies, No Promises, Just My Words

written by: OurSacredHonor

What I would do
If I were right in front of you

I wish I could
I wish I could
Why can't I bring myself to say
Anything?

I need to say
I cannot say
If only we were in the same place
Face to face

The things I would do
To prove it to you
Would be so much easier
It'd all be so much easier

Me
Ocean
You
This situation just won't do
I can't make it through
Another day like this

We're miserable for stupid reasons
It must be the change of seasons
There has to be a reason that they call this fall
Maybe cuz it's the time when I'll most likely lose it all

Doing something stupid
As usual
It's nothing new to you
Same old game
Names haven't changed
Only places
Your finger still knows where
To place the blame

Aim it at me
Like the barrel of the gun
I'm on the right side if not behind it
Can you find it in you?

Whispers like the wind
That could end it all
Mistakes like the snow
Unsuspected yet not new at all

The phone gets in the way
It keeps me from saying what I have to say
It plays games on us
It feeds doubt into our trust

I know the back of your hand
Better than my own
All those walks, those rides
Clenched tightly onto my hand it was all that was shown

Leading gently to fingertips
Touching lightly to soft lips
Curving slightly with your hips
Pulling closer with each kiss

Nose, forehead, cheeks
Ear, neck, shoulder
Back, legs, feet, hands
Lips
Tongue
Lips

Swift but slow
Letting you know
With every passionate motion
That not even the ocean
Or its waves or creatures or storms
Can keep me from having you and holding you in my arms

Step back

Pull away

Eyes lock
Stare
Only
Don't touch

Step closer

Don't touch

Lean closer

Don't touch

Lean
Closer
Step
Lean
Lean
Bend
Step
Touch
Lips

Apart

Together
Touch
Lips
Lips
More
Tongue
Kiss
Squeeze
Teeth

Apart

Together
Touch
Lips
Tongue
Squeeze
Fall
Lay
Roll
Squeeze
Hold
Kiss
Lips
Shoulder
Neck
Lips

Pause

Hold
Gaze
Into a universe
Stars burning bright
Together
Tonight
