Dragon

written by: gilligan3

You are innocence and youth

I am the hunger and the darkness

You laugh and skip unaware

I stalk you and lick my lips with sweet anticipation

Your friends see me staring and alert you

With a glance you are drawn into the abyss of my soul

And that moment right when you realize what I am

It fills me with joy and a thirst for you

As you turn to run I laugh

Spooking you even further into a crazed panic

Your friends are all slowly reaching your conclusion

That I am the night, the beast, the monster

The thing they believed only to be in fairy tales

This dragon spreads his wicked wings

And the cattle scatter as his rancid breath licks their soft necks

Frenzied you pay no heed to your path

And are knocked cold the wall you charge

At last I pounce my prey squeeling as I subdue you...
