Complexity

written by: OurSacredHonor

I can't tell if
I'm more afraid of you,
What I'll say,
or what you'll think if I do
Do I lack the clarity
to see through
Our vanity
to the truth?

Who started this?
Who's going to finish?
It's not a race, it's not a game
So I fear no one is winning
And we're losing touch
And losing faith
And losing all control
With these questions all unanswered
We've got nothing left to hold
Except a blind hope that someday
Maybe some way some of this will make sense
And maybe in the right place, at the right time
I'll get to make amends
But as for right now, I'm staying right here
Until you come back around
And I'll be listening so if you give a damn
Make a sound

Isn't this worth it?
Don't we deserve this?
Aren't you searching
With a purpose?
If you're Ok
Why do you look so nervous?
Stop holding my breathe
It's time to resurface

Because we're losing touch
And losing faith
And losing all control
With these questions all unanswered
We've got nothing left to hold
Except a blind hope that someday
Maybe some way some of this will make sense
And maybe in the right place, at the right time
I'll get to make amends
But as for right now, I'm staying right here
Until you come back around
And I'll be listening so if you give a damn
Make a sound

Scream my name
Swear out loud
Chew me up
Spit me out
Build me up
Or talk me down
But this silence is doing nothing
To fill the nothingness that is all around
Make a sound

"It's complicated"
Well, it isn't that simple
This wave builds up
From the tiniest ripples
The answers are always hidden
The path still masked in brush
A curtain of fog lowers down
And suddenly it's just us
Now what?

interesting I like the chorus like repetition in almost every verse and the end makes me pause for a moment as i draw the strings and tie it all together suddenly realizing at the end what you were truly saying thanks this was inspiring...
