Blur the Line

Words like a curse
Enunciated in this verse
I converse
And traverse
Over this lyrical landscape
Demands made
And dues paid
Day after day
Until finally
Somebody
Shows you the way
Seeing is believing
But believing's not being
Are you sure of what you're seeing?
Cuz the truth can be deceiving
Life, an eternal lie
By which we all abide
That manifests a destiny
On all of our insides
We're so foolish, so full of pride
In our lies we do confide
Although our sins are deep within
We're too busy on the outside

I'm trapped somewhere
Between dreaming and reality
Only when we blur the line
Between them shall we see?
That we're not who we want
Or who we pretend to be
But rather we're the truth buried
Deep inside you and me

Stop with all the games
Each day it's all the same
Repetition
No revision
Verbal incision
And more pain
Don't look out to the world
But look into your eyes
You'll be surprised
At what you find
If you just open up your mind
So take a long look in the mirror
And quiver at what you see
The same thing that's inside of you
Is deep inside of me
Charcoal hearts and shadowy thoughts
All true to what we're taught
But what we fail to realize
Is that our souls were already bought
Purchased by society
Coupons weren't necessary
Better than a discount price
They got us for free
