A Friend in Need

written by: OurSacredHonor

A friend who bleeds
Is a friend in need
Now if only she'd
Just talk to me

I'd try to help, I swear I would
Cuz all I know is that this isn't good
It's not healthy I know for a fact
That this isn't the right way for you to react
To this drama that's gonna take control of your life
Cuz you let go, then you take a hold of a knife?
That's not right, don't you get it?
If you live you'll regret it
Can't forget it, meant to end it
Couldn't mend it, and I bet it
Will stay stuck in that mind
With the scars you leave behind
On that arm
How could you harm
Yourself a thing of beauty, admirable
By all, "but look at my skin it's so malleable
Look how easy it breaks
When I take the razor straight
To it," for your sake
Don't do it!

A friend who bleeds
Is a friend in need
Now if only she'd
Just talk to me

Now girl, please listen carefully
To everything that I will say
Depression's like a cancer
It's hard to treat
I don't claim to have the answer
But it can be beat
Just like a fallen dancer
Get right back on your feet
Life gives second chances
If you don't succumb to defeat
Mistakes and heartbreaks
The path's we take
The choices we make
These become our fate
It's all in your hands, you can wield the blade
Or you can learn to love yourself and let pain fade
Time heals all wounds that aren't self-inflicted
If you're the culprit and the victim then you stand conflicted
You can't have it both ways
That's not the way the game is played
And if you try you'll surely pay
What else do I have to say?

A friend who bleeds
Is a friend in need
Now if only she'd
Just talk to me
