Witches Float But Hopes Don't

I've been thinking a lot lately
And I think I'll keep on thinking
But lately it seems to me that
This ship we're on is sinking
And I'm not about to drown because
You're hanging onto them so
If you want to live [with me]
You've got to let them go
I'll be the life preserver for you
At the end of your rope
But if u stay fast with that sinking ship
I'll quickly give up hope
Because I stayed on board while the bough went under
And waited for the last life boat
But I refuse to risk my life
On the buoyancy of hope
I'll stay afloat if it means that I must
Swim away from you
I will move on, I'll swim away,
If that's what I must do
You tiptoed too far out from shore
Now the riptide's pulled you away
But I won't stand here and wait forever
Just to hear you say
"Won't you help me? Please save me!
Just give me your hand!
All I want to do is get my feet back onto land!"
You've waited too long and
Your time has run out
Our relationship has been
Shattered by doubt
Of a future uncertain
That you couldn't secure
All I ever asked for was
A little bit more
And I know I deserve it
Because others tell me so
But you couldn't stand up for me
So I have to let you go
