Beat the System

The cold bites
In the dark night
As the dim light
Starts to shudder

Relentlessly
I lie to me
And nobody
Can ever see
All the falsity
That I breathe

So I crawl into my skin again
Hoping I can hide within
This shell of me that I've created
Hollow as can be I feel sedated

I'm stuck in the shadow of myself
Mind overthrown by the darkness
All of this shit that's around me
I must find a place to begin

Cheated once more
But what for?
I'm unsure
This sickness with no cure
Manifests in the core
My mind burns, my eyes are sore
Give me time and I'll change it all
With my knowledge nothing will be like before

Calm and collected
Precise and selected
meticulous, perfection
in the right direction

Are you just dumb?
Beat the system
Don't fuck with me bum
Beat the system
Must overcome
Beat the system
My day will come
Beat the system
