Like Asking

I will not give up on us though you currently don't pursue

because you are my every heartbeat and my love is true

for me to no longer believe that we will come to pass

would be like asking a multi-billionaire to give up all he has;

like asking the sun not to warm us with its rays;

like asking a true champion to purposely lose the race;

like asking a canyon not to echo resoundingly;

like asking the little yellow bees not to make honey;

like asking the sea not to be affected by the moon;

like asking beautiful flowers, in Spring, not to bloom;

like asking a romantic not to believe in love;

like asking a wild bull, cowboy on his back, not to buck;

like asking the shimmering stars not to shine at night;

like asking a Christian not to believe in Christ;

like asking a bird not sing its sweet melody;

like asking a mere mortal simply not to breathe;

No one could ever take your place, I'm sticking to the plan

I will believe in you and us forever with all that I have and am

The best man that I've ever known, you're the man of my dreams

And I will wait for you if it takes all eternity!!!
