Lady Liberty to America

Millions of people put you down
There are many who will try to destroy you
But as long as I am here there is hope
So I will stand for you

There are many aspects of your life that are changing now
Things that you couldn't have ever imagined are becoming reality
I know that you are scared and unsure of your next steps,
But I am here and I will stand for you

There are thousands who have given their lives for you
Brave men and women who have given it all to keep you going
To keep you strong and safe and enduring
I have watched, I am here, and I will stand for you

Recent events have left me empty
And I can no longer let you into my heart,
But do not forget that I'm here, A symbol of freedom and hope
I will always be here, and I will always stand for you
