christmas day

surly i could go downstairs
open just one present
it is christmas day after all
but then what if santa hasnt been

12:02
surly he will have done by now
stuffed all the presents into my stocking
but what i catch him drinking the sherry
or having a sneaky nibble of the carrot

12:03
surly he will have finished eating
and left the plate clean
but what if i see him scrambling up the chimney
and then id startle him and make him fall

12:04
he must be done by now
far away at the next house
if i just carful creep down
avoiding all the creaking floor boards

and turn on the light
"jimmy go back to bed
back in bed

surly theyll be asleep by now
