The Darkest Clouds

written by: GrenadeJumper

The darkest clouds will fill the sky
One more tear drop's out of my eye
They form a puddle, I see my own reflection
You gave us all so much love and affection
You cared for us
And you were always there for us
To cope, to cry, to just get by
The sadness and the grief we feel
Makes us think that this world is just too real
Never knowing what to feel
And not knowing how long it will take to heal
And now we're left here,
Thinking, Hoping, Dreaming
I try to wake myself from this dream and
Try to make this not as bad as it seems and
Its hard to think that you're not here
Just beginning to think makes my eyes start to tear
You meant so much to everyone you touched
You never knew that we all loved you so much
In the wake of the silence
Still not a word is spoken
Our dreams are shattered
Our lives are broken
I still can't believe that you're not with us today
You taught me to live life day by day
The darkest clouds will fill the sky
Now we question to God, Why?
Why do you take the ones we love so much?
We sat, we talked, we reminisced
Your laughter and your intellect will forever be missed
The last words you said, even though you wouldn't know
Are played out in my head like an old television show
You told me to take care of my parents
And not give them any grief
Now I'm here without you and I can barely speak
We can't believe you're gone
That you're not with us today
I think back to that day like it was only yesterday
When God took you into his arms
And left us all to wonder
The darkest clouds will fill the sky
Right before the lightening and the thunder
The rain came down so hard that day
When we would all have to say
Our goodbyes and comfort one another
We stood there talking amongst each other
As we all said goodbye, some started to cry
Its understood that these emotions come when somebody dies
Somebody that is so close to your heart
It feels like you're being ripped apart
You're not sure what to say
To make it come out the right way
You're not here with us today
But you're in a better place
One more glance at your face
Is all we need to know that you're alright
Some of us still stay up and its hard to sleep the through the night
The darkest clouds
For now are all that we can see
But at least theres someone up there
Who can open the gates for me
